Curtain Call’s Spring Studio production of The Yellow Boat portrays the true story of David and Sonja Saar’s son, Benjamin, who was born with congenital hemophilia and died in 1987 at the age of 8 of AIDS-related complications; A uniquely gifted visual artist, Benjamin’s buoyant imagination transformed his physical and emotional pain into a blaze of colors and shapes in his fanciful drawings and paintings; Show dates are Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 17 at 1 p.m., and Sunday, May 18 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.; Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door; Space is limited; Visit kcctc.org.
