Springtime is here, which means it’s time to shake off the winter blues and head outside with family and friends! From trails and parks to an experience with farm animals, we have plenty of opportunities to make exploring the outdoors part of your “nature!”
Hit the trails
Explore Kokomo’s natural beauty by riding your bike or walking on our local network of trails. Some of the trails feature unique surprises such as colorful murals, the eye-catching Sculpture Walk on the Wildcat Creek Walk of Excellence and Industrial Heritage Trail, and an expansive view from the Nickel Plate Trail bridge!
Stroll through the parks
Shake off the cabin fever with a visit to one of Kokomo’s many parks. Learn about native wildlife at the Kirkendall Nature Center in Jackson Morrow Park or hit the playground at Highland Park. While at Highland Park, don’t miss a visit to the quirky Sycamore Stump and Old Ben!
Down on the farm
If the peacefulness of the countryside is what you’re after, check out Heritage Farm for the perfect spring staycation! Rent a cabin or a campsite and spend the day exploring the farm — you might even get to pet an alpaca! You can also enjoy casual horseback riding at Crown Haven Center and Wrangler and Friends Farm.
