Kokomo Howard County Public Library offers unique activities in October

The Kokomo Howard County Public Library is known for hosting family-friendly, educational, creative, and fun events throughout the year. This October, there are dozens of activities for children, teens, and adults to do that allow them to have fun while also learn something new. All their events are held at the different library branches and are free, which is the best part!

An activity that the library will be hosting all month long is the Fall Straw Maze. Visit the Russiaville branch and meander through a labyrinth of straw bales!

The Main branch will be joining the First Friday festivities once more on Oct. 4 with a “spooktacular” event as part of First Friday: Masquerade! Bring your family and friends–if you dare!–to the Mad Scientist’s Lab, where creepy, crawly, and slimy surprises await!

October is the perfect month for spooky ghost stories, and the best place to experience them is at the Main branch! On Oct. 19, experience the haunted side of Indiana folklore and hear scary stories about paranormal phenomena!

Finally, fall break can be both a fun and challenging week for families when it comes to finding activities that are fun, educational, and close to home. Fortunately, all the library branches will be hosting a series of activities from Oct. 21-26. You can enjoy activities such as pumpkin painting, a glow-in-the-dark dance party, games, story time, and more!
