Welcome to Kokomo, Indiana!  

Kokomo is located fifty miles north of Indianapolis, easily reached by U.S. 31.  Kokomo is known as the City of Firsts thanks to its world-renowned automotive heritage and history of technological inventions, which includes America's First Car produced by Elwood Haynes in 1894.  Kokomo's historic downtown offers a wide variety of interesting attractions, which include family friendly parks, the Wildcat Creek Walk of Excellence walking and biking trail, intercity bikeways, and summertime open-air concerts, such as the Kokomo Free Summer Concert Series in Foster Park.  Local farmers and crafters make up the Saturday farmers' market, selling a wide variety of home produced products in the downtown area.  Because of Kokomo's history of glass manufacturing, there are unique art and glass studios, restaurants, and places of historical interest, many within a short walk of the center of town.  We invite you to visit us anytime of the year for great food, great hospitality, and a great experience!

Kokomo/Howard County is a location featured along the Indiana Glass Trail and offers many opportunities for visitors to see glass displays, glass blowing demonstrations, purchase glass items, and much more.  Kokomo Artworks Gallery, located in Downtown Kokomo, carries the work of several local glass artists. Take the fascinating tour at the Kokomo Opalescent Glass Factory & Hot Glass Studio to see the glass-making process and blown glass artists at work, and then shop in The OP Shop for a great selection of unique glass gifts! See several stained glass windows and a display of Greentown and Jenkins glass at the Seiberling Mansion. Then, visit Greentown to see over 2,000 pieces of glass & historical items at the Greentown Glass Museum.
