New art comes to downtown Kokomo

Downtown Kokomo is home to many different locations that showcases art to the community. On Sept. 6, two new exhibits were opened to the public: the Community Art Exhibit and a new Artist Alley exhibit.

The Community Art Exhibit is an annual tradition held in Artworks Gallery, where local artists of all ages were invited to submit one art piece for their chance to be featured in a gallery without having to pay entry fees or have their works selected by a jury. Artists from all over Howard County have submitted projects such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and more. This exhibit is available on the second floor of the gallery now until the end of September.

The second installation is the 11th annual Artist Alley exhibit located next to Artworks Gallery. To put it simply, Artist Alley is an outdoor art museum that never closes and is free and open to the public. The new exhibit features a stunning and diverse collection of art from new and returning artists, including different paintings, a granite sculpture, and a digital art piece. It is available now until September 2025.
