The Kokomo Howard County Public Library is known for hosting family-friendly, educational, creative, and fun events throughout the year. This December, there are dozens of activities for children, teens, and adults to do that allow them to have fun while also learn something new. All their events are held at the different library branches and are free, which is the best part!
The holiday season is here, which means it’s time to put your creativity to good use! The South Branch will be hosting Deck the Walls on Dec. 14 where you can learn how to make a beautiful holiday wall art statement piece for your home. Hot cocoa and cookies will also be provided to boost your inspiration!
Love to decorate gingerbread houses? Cookie Cottage Creations at the Main Branch is the perfect workshop for you! Join KHCPL on Dec. 17 for a sweet time!
The Winter Solstice is known for being the shortest day of the year, and it has been a culturally significant occasion throughout history. The Russiaville Branch will be holding a celebration on Dec. 20 with caroling, live music, crafts, and a traditional bonfire to keep your family warm.
Finally, KHCPL knows that children have to go to bed early, which means that they miss out on ringing in the New Year at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Therefore, they are throwing a fun “Noon Year’s Eve” bash on Dec. 31 at the Russiaville Branch! Children of all ages are invited to celebrate the New Year with games, dancing, and a balloon drop at noon.
