Kokomo Howard County Public Library offers unique activities in May

The Kokomo Howard County Public Library is known for hosting family-friendly, educational, creative, and fun events throughout the year. This month, there are dozens of activities for children, teens, and adults to do that allow them to have fun while also learn something new. All their events are held at the different library branches and are free, which is the best part!

The Main Branch gets into the First Friday spirit on May 2 with a special reception celebrating the new Library Card Design Contest winners. Meet the talented artists behind the winning design while unleashing your creativity with art and craft projects in honor of First Friday: Art Task!

Have you ever wondered how artists write in fancy lettering? Learn how to write in elegant styles with the South Branch’s Hand Lettering for Beginners class on May 10, where you can write a flourished inspirational quote on a tissue paper background. Plus, you can walk out with hand-lettering skills that you can use when writing those last-minute Mother’s Day cards!

Finally, the South Branch invites you to explore the branch’s beautiful outdoor spaces with a Sun Seekers Scavenger Hunt on May 31. Be sure to bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair to take a break from the scavenger hunt and make new friends!
