Kokomo Howard County Public Library offers unique activities in July

The Kokomo Howard County Public Library is known for hosting family-friendly, educational, creative, and fun events throughout the year, but summer is the season where the library offers a variety of activities for kids, teens, and adults of all ages! This July, there are dozens of activities for families to do that allow them to have fun while also learn something new. All their events are held at the different library branches and are free, which is the best part!

A childhood favorite summer pastime for many is to have fun with bubbles. The South Branch will be hosting a Foam Happy Party on July 10, where people of all ages can enjoy playing with a shower of bubbles! The first half of the event will be for people, but the second half will be reserved for furry friends! Towels and clothes that you don’t mind getting wet are recommended for this event.

There are many activities in July that can help children channel their creative and scientific side. Stomp, Clap, Sing! at the South Branch Firefly Stage on July 12 offers musical fun with a performance and instrument workshop with the Rhum Academy of Music. Wonderfest at the Main Branch on July 16 and 18 offers different hands-on science activities.

The Bookmobile will also make a few stops in Jackson Morrow Park this month. In addition to checking out books from the Bookmobile, families can also partake in a craft-making session and story time. These dates are July 9, 16, and 23 an and will be in the park from 9:30-11 a.m. on these days.

Finally, if you have completed this year’s Summer Reading Program, you are invited to the Splish-Splash Final Bash on July 25 at Kokomo Beach! Come and celebrate the end of a fun summer adventure of stories!
