Kokomo, Indiana was featured on an episode of John McGivern’s Main Streets, a No. 1 rated, locally-produced show on PBS Wisconsin that is dedicated to showcasing the charm and character of destinations across the region.
The series explores the heart and soul of Midwestern towns, uncovering their unique history, local businesses, and unexpected attractions. The episode brings national exposure to Kokomo’s rich history, vibrant small businesses, and welcoming community.
From Aug. 12-15, 2024, filming took place in popular destinations throughout the community for the episode that aired in March 2025 in select PBS Markets. These places include Kokomo Opalescent Glass, Black Wax Cafe, Elwood Haynes Museum, Artie’s Tenderloin, and many more. Even quirky Old Ben and Kokomantis made a cameo!
Before coming to Kokomo, the show has featured other Indiana cities, towns, and destinations. Season 1 featured the Indiana Dunes and South Bend. Season 2 featured Fort Wayne and Goshen, and Season 3 featured the Greater Lafayette area. The Kokomo episode was presented in Season 4.
