Arts and crafts, games, storytelling, special events, picnics, sports and physical fitness are in store for kids this summer at Kokomo parks.

Hosted by the Kokomo Parks & Recreation Department, the Recreation Adventure Program is offered at all supervised playgrounds.

Supervisors are present to offer participating children leadership and organized games and sports. The program is free, but there is a $1 fee to participate in the craft.

Offering activities daily from noon to 5 p.m. from June 5 to July 21, parks hosting the summer program are:

  • Highland Park, 900 W. Deffenbaugh
  • Bon Air Park, 2500 N. Purdum

Craft Fest is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at the Highland Stage and open lawn in front of Rodgers Pavilion in Highland Park. Crafts will include shirt tie-dying (shirts will not be suppled so you’ll need to bring your own or purchase on site), candle dipping, splatter painting, basket weaving and many more.
