In a galaxy far, far away, (OK, we mean downtown Kokomo), you can celebrate all things Star Wars during First Friday’s May the Fourth Be With You event.

There will be storm troopers and other costumed characters roaming the streets of downtown. There will be plenty of Star Wars games, activities and crafts, including a chance for kids to make their own light saber with the help of a Jedi master.

Come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character because our prize patrol will be on the lookout for the best costume in the crowd.

There will also be a 16-piece jazz band, sidewalk chalk murals, plenty of art, a wood craft for kids and the first Cook McDoogal’s Cruise In.

Here’s a complete list of what’s planned:

  • Kokomo Toys & Collectibles and Comics Cubed will have Stormtroopers from the 501stpatrolling the sidewalk between the businesses. They’ll be looking for Rebel scum, but they’ll have time for a photo or two.
