At the Kokomo Farmers Market each week you can expect to find dance groups, musicians, magicians and more to entertain you while you stroll through the booths of friendly vendors selling only what they grow, raise or make themselves.
During the summer months, you’ll find beautiful, healthy vegetables, as well as delicious breads and sweets prepared by local talented bakers.
The farmers market’s list of small farm and business vendors continues to grow and diversify, offering products from high-quality produce and farm fresh meats to one-of-a-kind artwork and vegan treats. KDFM vendors work hard to provide a consistent source of sustainably and humanely raised food to the community.
Also, local nonprofit organizations participate each week to share information about their work in the community. There are also weekly educational activities about nature, nutrition and gardening through the market’s Little Sprouts Market Club for kids. In the Wellness Tent you’ll find cooking demonstrations, budget-friendly recipes and smart cooking tips to help you make the most of the market.
To help families, children and seniors in need, all eligible vendors at the market accept SNAP and WIC through a simple token program. The farmers market’s Double Bucks program extends the purchasing power of SNAP users specifically for fresh, whole foods through doubling their benefits up to the first $10 for use on produce.
The farmers market at the intersection of Mulberry and Washington streets in downtown Kokomo is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 7. Starting June 14, it will also be open from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays.
