In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Chevrolet Camaro, the Kokomo Automotive Museum opened a special exhibit “A Command Performance: The Chevrolet Camaro at 50,” on display through August 20, 2017.
The collection includes a gorgeous 2017 red Camaro Convertible Rally Sport on loan by Eriks Chevrolet in Kokomo and a very rare blue 1967 Camaro Z28 Rally Sport, originally built as a factory racing car and one of only 602 made that year.
See an orange and white Camaro 350 SS, a 1969 Indianapolis 500 Festival Pace Car replica. That year was only the second year a Camaro paced the 500.
Check out the red 1967 Camaro RS, known as a grocery getter. It’s a one-owner vehicle originally purchased in South Bend, IN. Fun fact: all six kids in the family learned how to drive with this car, and it is still in near perfect condition!
In addition to the special Camaro exhibit, the museum has over 100 vintage and classic cars in its permanent collection, including several automobiles from the early 1900’s, and tons of cool memorabilia.
The Kokomo Automotive Museum is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Visit the museum’s website for more details.
